Yogi Adityanath, whose birth name is Ajay Mohan Bisht, is an Indian politician and monk who is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was born on June 5, 1972, in the village of Panchur, in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India.
Yogi Adityanath became involved with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at a young age and eventually joined its youth wing, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). He became a prominent figure within the VHP and was involved in various campaigns related to Hindu nationalism.
In 1998, Yogi Adityanath was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, representing the Gorakhpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh. In addition to his political career, Yogi Adityanath is a prominent Hindu monk of the Nath sect. He became the head priest of the Gorakhnath Math, a Hindu temple and monastery in Gorakhpur, after the death of his mentor, Mahant Avaidyanath, in 2014.
